​Fire Island Rentals for Families 

Are your houses "share houses"?

No. We rent mostly to families and/or mature, laid-back groups (over 25+). The houses are located in the quieter section of OBP and we do not rent to loud groups or partiers. (Parties are not allowed!) We only rent the FULL house, not separate rooms.

 

What types of rentals are available?

We rent by full-weeks (7 days/6 nights; usually Monday-Sunday, Friday-Thursday or Saturday-Friday), midweeks (5 days/4 nights; Monday-Friday), weekends (3 days/2 nights; Friday-Sunday or Monday AM), holiday weekends (Fri-Mon or Tues AM for Memorial Day & Labor Day; July 4th varies year-to-year). Monthly rentals are also available, with pricing and dates by request.

 

Can I buy groceries and alcohol in OBP or nearby communities?

Yes, there's a small market about 10 minutes away by foot/5 minutes by bike. Seaview Market is a 10-minute bike ride away, and the many stores of Ocean Beach are about 15-20 minutes away by bike. Goods are much more expensive on Fire Island than on the main land, so it’s best to bring as many food items as you can.

 

Do the houses have A/C?

Yes, during the summer season Villa du Soleil has A/C in all four bedrooms and Villa Etoile has A/C in the two downstairs bedrooms. The houses are located six houses from the ocean and half-block from the bay, and both have plenty of windows to catch cooling breezes. All windows and doors are screened for comfort, and there are ceiling fans, wall-mounted fans and oscillating fans for every room.

 

Can we drop off luggage and/or put our food in the fridge before check-in time?

No. Please respect the check-in and checkout times listed on the rental agreement. The keys will not be made available before check-in time. The cleaning crew needs that time to clean the house between rentals, and they begin with the outdoor spaces. We also use that time to do repairs and maintenance on the property.

 

How do I get my security deposit back?

If there is no damage and no missing/broken items, we mail the security deposit within 4-6 weeks (via Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or check)
